Our goal in roasting is to unlock all that hidden possibility and present it in a way that invites our community to connect, sip, and explore with intention.

After 30+ years of roasting, we’re still learning and still chasing that perfect balance of chemistry and craft. Starting in 2017, we began a deep dive into rethinking how we roast. We questioned everything we thought we knew, working with industry experts to refine every assumption, curve, and process in pursuit of sweeter, cleaner, and more expressive coffee. That journey continues every single day.

Coffee, Controlled

Coffee is a volatile medium; always changing, always demanding attention. Roasting it well means adapting constantly, reading the data, and steering the process toward a precise goal.

That spirit of control and curiosity is what inspired Control Freak Coffee, our project built from the same philosophy we bring to roasting. We’ve spent decades learning how to dial in flavor; now we’re helping people dial in their energy.

From 0% Just Vibes to 100% Full Throttle, Control Freak is a caffeine spectrum. The next evolution of intentional coffee drinking. Just like our roasting curves, your caffeine curve is something you can shape, refine, and perfect. It’s flavor and function, calculated.

What Is a Roast Profile?

A roast profile is our blueprint for each batch of coffee: a plan that balances art and analytics. It maps how heat, airflow, and time interact to develop sweetness, brightness, and body.

We use software like Cropster to track every variable in real time, studying the bean temperature and its Rate of Rise (ROR). The result looks like a set of curves, each one telling the story of a roast. We don’t just watch those curves; we learn from them, tweak them, and repeat.

Every batch is a test, a lesson, and an act of control.
